芝加哥大學（The University of Chicago），是一所位于美國伊利諾伊州芝加哥的私立、男女同校、無宗教派別的研究型大學，1890年由約翰·洛克菲勒創辦，在1892年10月1日正式開課。芝加哥大學是美國最富盛名的大學之一，共有89位獲得諾貝爾獎得主在此工作或學習。那么，芝加哥大學的轉學和轉學分政策有什么特別之處？錄取難度大不大？對國際生有哪些要求？
芝加哥大學轉學政策
首先，什么樣的學生被認為是轉學生呢？所有入讀大學學位課程一學期或以上的學生，都是轉學生，都要按轉學生申請 （The University of Chicago considers you a transfer applicant if you have completed one term as a full-time student in a degree-seeking program at another college or university）。
所有轉學生都至少要在Chicago讀兩年（6個quarters），完成核心課程和至少一半的專業課（Transfer students must attend the College for at least two academic years (six quarters) and complete the Core curriculum and at least half of their major with us?）。轉學生只接受秋季入學。而且國際轉學生是沒有獎學金的。
芝加哥大學轉學分政策
轉學生必須在Chicago入讀至少六個quarters，可以全職或兼職，并至少要完成18門課程。
在芝加哥大學，并不是所有的課程都可以轉學分。在兩年制（相當于國內的大專）或四年制的大學，至少學習三個學期或四個季度的文科課程，并獲得C以上的分數（特殊情況下要求B以上的分數）都是可以轉的（Liberal arts courses carrying at least three semester hours or four quarter hours of credit and passed with a grade of C or better (in some cases, a grade of B or better is required) from an accredited two- or four-year institution）。AP課程分數在4或5可轉，但不包括 CLEP, USAFI等相關課程。
初級微積分，微積分和外語，這些課程可否轉學分還要看學生具體情況。如學生的專業，課程的等級，化學物理和生物的學分有時候還要根據考試來定。專業或技術課程不可轉，如新聞、商業、法律、音樂演出、演講、護理等。只有和學校開設的課程相似的才可以轉。學生在Chicago畢業后，成績單上只顯示可轉的學分（Upon graduation from the University of Chicago, transfer credits are listed on the student’s University of Chicago tran only as the number of credits approved for transfer.），不顯示課程名字和分數。
芝加哥大學申請要求
芝加哥大學只接受秋季轉學，截止日期為3月1號，學校會根據申請人數的多少擇優錄取，錄取結果通常為5月份，學生回復及交押金的日期是6-1。申請費為75美金。學生申請需要提交SAT分數，但不要求SAT Subject, 如果有sub更好，可以作為補充材料提交。GPA通常要求3.5以上。
國際生托福分數要求最低100分。在美國高中或大學學習兩年以上可以免考，但是不包括語言課程（The only exceptions are for applicants who for two or more years have attended a high school or college in the U.S. UChicago does not offer an ESL program for admitted students）。
芝加哥大學錄取難度
芝加哥大學轉學生錄取難度是非常大的，錄取率很低，往年所有國際生總數一般才為3—4個，今年2015年擴招了，在中國一共招了5個轉學生（We admitted a very small number of transfer students this year; I don't have the exact numbers handy but my estimate is that we admitted approximately 5 students from China （both currently studying in China and students who are from China but currently study in the US）。
